What is a single buggy?
A single buggy, also referred to as a sleigh, or a similar sleigh, is an uni-wheeled light carriage typically pulled by one horse. Amish people often use it and also refer to it the sleigh. A single buggy is a preferred choice for families since it is easy to move around for all members of the family.
phil&teds(r) created the first inline(r) stroller in 1998 and has led the way in innovation ever since. Our stroller and Double Kit(tm) bundles offer a variety of options for families of all ages.

Different types of single buggies
A buggy that is lightweight can be a great choice for parents who frequently travel or plan to take public transport with their child or take a trip. They are usually less than 6kg in weight and fold up compactly, meaning they can be carried easily in overhead luggage compartments on flights. Buggies that weigh less than 6kg are great for travelling around town since they're usually easy to manoeuvre. Many come with a sunshade and raincover, which are worth investing in to keep your baby entertained at any time!
A jogger buggy has large BMX wheels and is designed for exercise. It also has an excellent suspension to take the bumps and bounces of off-road usage. Jogger buggies aren't easy to steer since the front wheel could rotate, which is why it's crucial to lock this when mounting the kerbs or crossing roads.
Some buggies are convertible. This allows the seat to face either backward or forward (also called parent-facing). This is perfect for babies who are sensitive and want to be able to see their parents. Other models are only forward-facing and are ideal for older children who do not want to be disturbed.
There are also tandem buggies which can accommodate two children who are the same age. This is a great option for newborns or twins who are similar in age, however, it can be difficult to maneuver, particularly when the space is small. Some tandem buggies have an adjustable mechanism on each seat so that your child can lie flat while you push them.
The best single-buggy for you will depend on your budget, lifestyle, and family size. Look for a light buggy that has a seat that can be used right from the beginning. If you're looking to protect your money consider an individual buggy that can adapt to a double buggy for when the time comes. Phil&teds created the first inline buggy, and they have a great selection of double kit and stroller bundles that can assist you in achieving this.
The purchase of a single buggy
A new buggy can be costly. Most pushchair packages with newborn bassinets can cost upwards PS700. This is quite a bit for parents on a an extremely tight budget.
The truth is that unless you live in an area with public transport readily available or have a huge car boot and spend every weekend on muddy parks, the majority of families buy two buggies. A sturdy buggie that can be used on rough terrain, transport massive loads and expand with your family, and another lightweight travel buggy that can be used for holidays or in tight spaces such as public transport and busy streets.
Our advice is to buy one that you like and, in the event that your child gets older and you require an additional double, you can simply sell it and then re-purchase the buggy you want. This way, you won't be stuck with a gimmick that isn't what you really need.
Buying a double buggy
You have to think about many things when purchasing a double buggy, from the cost to the reclined positions available. It is also important to consider whether you require a large shopping basket as well as what kind of suspension the buggy has. It is also important to consider what features you want your buggy to have such as sunshades, rain covers and snack trays.
There are many double buggies that are available on the market. The best one for you depends on the person who will be using it, your lifestyle, and your budget. If you're expecting twins, or have a toddler and newborn, then you may need a more flexible pushchair that can adapt to your growing family. UPPAbaby's Vista V2 is a perfect example, as it has 30 different seating options for all age groups. This allows you to use it as a single stroller from the beginning and then transform it to a side-by-side model when your children get older. It can even be used with a third child, if the Ride-Along Piggyback Board is added making it a great option for families with multiple children.
buggy single Duet V3.2 is a different option. This is among the slimmest side-byside double buggies available, with dimensions that are nearly as small as a single buggie. It has two world-facing seats with reclining options independently that can be converted to a flat position. It can be adjusted to fit two carrycots, cocoons or two baby car seats.
It is easy to fold and can be done by hand, due to the twist mechanism on the handle. It's also lightweight and, while it might not be as compact as the Cybex Gazelle S, it's still small enough to fit in most car boot compartments or behind the doors at home. It has a good suspension and a footbrake that operates smoothly which makes it easier to push over rough surfaces. The harness straps and seats of the car are cushioned, making it comfortable for your child to sit in.
